Progress Update

Since the last project update, I have been working on UAV Image processing for the imagery collected during the fall of 2015. Once the images are process I will be creating the high resolution base maps for each cemetery. Once processing is completed, the corrected images will then be Geo-referenced using ArcMap. Once all images for a cemetery are Geo-Referenced, they will be uploaded to ArcGIS Online as a tile package to be used as high resolution base maps for data collection.

Moving Forward

Moving forward in the project more UAV imagery will need to be collected as soon as we get the UAV back in the air. It has been down for maintenance and camera replacement following a crash last spring.

Students also need to be trained on how to set up cemeteries for collection as well as creation of base maps using the UAV imagery.

Moving beyond training the next major facet of the project is field data collection where teams of students will be organized and sent out to the field to collect the data.
